Fabulous Florets - Potential Swap

Hi Stampers!

Whenever I get ready to go an event like a Regional, I sit down at my craft table and create a bunch of potential swaps.  Sometimes I reproduce them all, sometimes I just choose one.  For the Baltimore regional that I attended a couple of weeks ago, I had designed 4 potential swaps, but I only had the time to mass produce one of them.  To see which swap made the final cut, click HERE.

This was one of my potential swaps using my favorite flower set - Fabulous Florets!

It's a very simple design but has a lot of collage stamping!

Stampin' Supplies:
Card Stock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral
Designer Series Paper: Brights Collection DSP Stack
Stamps: Made for You, Fabulous Florets
Ink: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral
Punches: Curly Label
Other: Sponge Dauber

I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane and April Birthdays

Hi Stampers!

Today will be the last live post I make while I'm still in this country!  I'm heading out to Italy for vacation!  YAAAAAYYYY!!!!!

I will try to schedule some posts ahead of time to post on the blog while I'm away.  That way you will still have some stamping projects to look at while I'm gone.  :-)

If you wish to place an order while I am away, please do so on my online store.  I will not be able to place orders for you while I'm away.  If you have any issues with orders, please send me an email and I will take care of them as soon as I get back.

To stay up to date with any promotions that may begin while I'm away please check the SU Homepage (http://www.stampinup.com/home/).

Now on to today's card.  This card is 100% a CASE.  Sadly, I do not know who created this little gem! If it was you, please let me a comment so I can give you credit!  I had gone to an event my upline was holding and she had displays set up of the swaps she received at the Leadership event.  This card was one of them so I snapped a quick pic on my phone and recreated it at home.  Here is the picture of the card that I made for my cousin's birthday!

The Basic Black Decorative Label punch out was cut in half and used as wing on either side of the sentiment.  I like how the black really stands out against the white background.

Stampin' Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Old Olive, Basic Black
Designer Series Paper: Polka Dot Parade
Stamps: Make a Wish
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers
Punches: Decorative Label
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

Guess What? Another Best of Flowers Card!

Hi Stampers!

I have one more Best of Flowers card for you.  This was also based on the Just Us Girls Sketch 1.  I really liked this sketch, as you may have guessed and tried to use it in several different ways!

Here's a close up of the embellishment panel I made.  It's so easy to make something like this!  I did all of my stamping first.  Then I punched the shape out and sponged around the edges.  Next, you put a lot of SNAIL all around the back perimeter of the stamped image.  Using the seam binding, you just stick the end on and then scrunch it back and forth around the shape.  It's not a perfectly symmetrical ruffle, but it's not meant to be.  Give it a try!  It works really well with Stampin' Up!'s 1/2" Seam Binding which comes in a TON of colors!  When stamping the flower background, I inked up the stamp and stamped off on scratch paper once before stamping my card stock.

Stampin' Supplies:
Card Stock: Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Summer Smooches
Stamps: Best of Flowers, Perfectly Penned
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie
Big Shot: Fancy Fans Embossing Folder
Punches: Extra Large Oval
Embellishments: Very Vanilla Seam Binding

Stampin' Up! Baltimore Regional

Hi Stampers!

I spent Friday night and all day Saturday down in Baltimore, MD for the Stampin' Up! East Coast Spring Regional.  These events are always a ton of fun.  And the swapping!  Oh, the swapping!  So much fun.  I didn't have a whole lot of free time to create tons of swaps.  I only made 24, but that was enough for me.  I received such beautiful work in return.  I also had one lady tell me that she was hoping she could find me to swap with because she liked my design.  I was so happy about that because my design aesthetic tends to be on the clean and simple side and I always think that others like very heavily embellished cards.  Anyway, it made me so happy!  I also got to meet Shannon West, who I love, and Brian Pilling.  I was very starstruck.  My fellow demos would understand!

I also got a peek at a bunch of new products from the upcoming catalog and I got to see all of the new In Colors for 2013-2015.  You are not going to be disappointed!  The new catalog goes live on June 1st!

I stayed right in the Inner Harbor and here is the view from the top floor of my hotel.

Pretty, huh?

Here is the swap I made for the event:

Because it is Stampin' Up!'s 25th birthday, we had an afternoon cupcake break!

Yum!  I chose vanilla cake with vanilla frosting.  Obviously, I had no self control and began eating the icing on my way back to my seat.

Here is my swap on the swap display board.  So exciting!

Stampin' Supplies:
Card Stock: Summer Starfruit, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Stamps: Papillion Potpourri, Summer Silhouettes, Made for You
Ink: Summer Starfruit, Old Olive, Pacific Point
Other: Bitty Butterfly Punch, Sponge Dauber, Basic Rhinestones

Even More Best of Flowers

Hi Stampers!

Happy Friday!  I have an exciting weekend ahead of me.  Today after work I'm hitting the road, on my way to the Stampin' Up! regional event in Baltimore.  Yay!  I can't wait to see what project and ideas they have for us.  I always come home very inspired from these events.

Today I have another card featuring the Best of Flowers stamp set.  I'm also using the JUGS1 sketch again but in a different orientation.  I love sketches because you can either follow them exactly, or they can ben just something to kick start your inspiration.

Here's my card for today.  Isn't this a fun Spring color combo????  I colored the flower by inking up my sponge daubers and pouncing on the flower.  It's not perfect or colored in the lines, but it wasn't meant to be!  Try this technique out for yourself!

 Here is the sketch again:

Stampin Supplies:
Card Stock: Sahara Sand, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade
Designer Series Paper: Twitterpated
Stamps: Best of Flowers
Ink: Early Espresso, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade
Big Shot: Ovals Collection Framelits
Embellishments: Calypso Coral 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon

More Best of Flowers

Hi Stampers!
Well it's the middle of the week and I have decided to show you a card I made that is a little out of my element.  I am definitely a CAS stamper.  I love clean lines and a subtle use of embellishments, but when I saw this sketch from the Just Us Girls challenge blog, I had to go a little wild.  :-)

This is the sketch I saw...it's the first one they published!

And here is my take on it! I repositioned the elements on the sketch a bit to feel right for me.  I hope you like it!  FYI - The flower was colored by daubing with sponge daubers.  I thought it gave the flower kind of a tie dye effect.

Stampin' Supplies:
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Primrose Petals
Designer Series Paper: Print Poetry
Ink: Early Espresso, Primrose Petals, Daffodil Delight
Stamps: Best of Flowers, One in a Million
Big Shot: Ovals Collection Framelits
Tools: Occasions Paper Piercing Pack, Piercing Tool, Piercing Mat
Embellishments: Large Basic Pearls, Lace from Artisan Embellishments Kit

Best of Flowers

Hi Stampers!

It's Friday!  I'm so excited to have a nice, relaxing weekend ahead of me to craft and stamp.  I am hoping to get a lot of stamping, scrapbooking, and crocheting done this weekend!  Want to join me?  Come on over!  :-)

Today is the first post of many that I have featuring the Best of Flowers stamp set.  I am using a much neglected (and soon to be retired) color - Not Quite Navy!

Stampin' Supplies:
Embellishments: Basic Pearls

There were a ton of announcements made this week at Stampin' Up!  The two most exciting ones are the free shipping weekend and the Color Refresh!

Stampin' Up! is offering free shipping on all orders placed April 6th-8th!  There is no minimum purchase amount.  You can order by clicking on my shop button on the upper left of the blog or by emailing me your order!  It's a great time to stock up on supplies or get those last few items from the Spring catalog before it's gone forever!

Stampin' Up! has announced the new color line up for the 2013-2014 Annual catalog.  I really love how they have brought back a lot of the most popular In Colors.  In Colors are named that because they are "In"...the trendiest colors!!!!   Many of my favorites are returning....Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Island Indigo.....it's so exciting!  There is even a new color - Smoky Slate - which is a beautiful light gray.  It's the perfect complement to Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder....any color you would pair up with Basic Gray without the boldness of Basic Gray.  I can hardly wait for the new catalog to come out!

Here's the color line up!

Discontinued colors will continue to be sold while supplies last until the new catalog is released.  I cannot guarantee how long they will be in stock, so if there are some that you love and will miss, make sure you stock up ASAP!

Happy Stamping!
